"The best music touches your soul and evokes an emotional response. As a songwriter, I believe this to be true and have taken it to heart in my writing. Growing up, a record was always playing in my house and some of my fondest memories are of my mother singing along as she worked. The soulful stylings of Etta James, Frank Sinatra and the like left a lasting impression on my youthful ears. Their music has a power that reached inside of me and took hold. Even to this day, whenever I hear one of their tunes, I am transported back to my childhood home. I have heard it said many times 'write what you know' and my compositions reflect that philosophy. My lyrics speak of family and friends, love and loss, hopes and dreams. They are about feelings we all share and experiences to which anyone can relate. My ultimate wish as a songwriter is that my work speaks to the listener's heart and takes them to a special place or time in their life."           Read More
